Terms & Conditions

Definition of Coaching
Coaching is a professional partnership in which the Coach and the Client work together to clarify areas that the Client would like to improve, working together towards achieving the Client’s desired outcomes in those areas.

Coaching is distinct from consulting, in that the Coach will help the Client to come up with their own answers rather than advising. It is different from therapy in that the Coach and the Client will address any obstacles that keep the Client from achieving their goals. The Coach and the Client will not engage in any psychological area that requires training and/or licensing. The aim is that, with regularly scheduled appointments, the results of the work together are cumulative.

The best results usually happen because of the Client’s consistency and follow-through. Even if the Client feels unprepared, there is value to be gained from exploring what’s going on.

The Coach’s Responsibility
The Coach is committed to supporting the Client in achieving their desired outcomes and ensuring each session is meaningful and productive. The Coach agrees to conduct herself professionally, maintaining the ethics and standards set by the HJs Code of Ethics.

The Coach will not offer advice in any area in which they are not qualified and will, upon request, assist the Client in finding a trained and/or licensed professional for any matter that is outside the Coach’s scope of expertise.

Confidentiality
The identity of each Client and all communications between the Client and the Coach will be held as strictly confidential, to the extent permitted by law, unless the Client gives the Coach express permission to disclose specific information. While the Coach-Client relationship is not privileged and the Coach may be required to disclose confidential information in a legal proceeding, it is highly unlikely that this will occur. In the event that there is evidence that the Client is a potential danger to themself or another, or that the Client discloses illegal activity, the Coach is ethically bound to report it to the appropriate authority. In such a case, the Coach will discuss it with the Client before taking such action.

Cancellation/missed appointments
The Coach understands that emergencies can happen to anyone; therefore, if an emergency keeps the Client from attending a session, please contact the Coach in advance, as soon as possible, to let them know of the circumstances.

However, should the Client miss a session without notice, or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, the Client is not entitled to a refund, nor free rescheduling of the missed appointment.

If the Client reschedules within the same week, with more than 24hrs notice, the session can be rescheduled free of charge.

Open communication
The Coach agrees to communicate openly and honestly, and to gently and compassionately share their observations as the Coach and Client work together. The Coach encourages the Client to be open and honest, as the best results from coaching are achieved when the Client shares the full picture with the Coach.

Communication between sessions
Please feel free to email me whenever you deem it necessary, or, for urgent communications, I am also available on WhatsApp.

Important
The key to achieving positive results is to be consistent, and keep showing up for yourself. We do not offer ‘quick transformation’. All coaching work and personal development requires deep commitment, time, and self-compassion, which can result in a shift in our realities.

2. Terms & Conditions Psychedelic Coaching

Definition of Coaching
Coaching is a professional partnership in which the Coach and the Participant work together to clarify areas that the Participant would like to improve, working together towards achieving the Participant’s desired outcomes in those areas.

Coaching is distinct from consulting, in that the Coach will help the Participant to come up with their own answers rather than advising. It is different from therapy in that the Coach and the Participant will address any obstacles that keep the Participant from achieving their goals. The Coach and the Participant will not engage in any psychological area that requires training and/or licensing. The aim is that, with regularly scheduled appointments, the results of the work together are cumulative.

The best results usually happen because of the Participant’s consistency and follow-through. Even if the Participant feels unprepared, there is value to be gained from exploring what’s going on.

The Coach’s Responsibility
The Coach is committed to supporting the Participant in achieving their desired outcomes and ensuring each session is meaningful and productive. The Coach agrees to conduct herself professionally, maintaining the ethics and standards set by the HJs Code of Ethics.

The Coach will not offer advice in any area in which they are not qualified and will, upon request, assist the Participant in finding a trained and/or licensed professional for any matter that is outside the Coach’s scope of expertise.

Confidentiality
The identity of each Participant and all communications between the Participant and the Coach will be held as strictly confidential, to the extent permitted by law, unless the Participant gives the Coach express permission to disclose specific information. While the Coach-Participant relationship is not privileged and HJ may be required to disclose confidential information in a legal proceeding, it is highly unlikely that this will occur. In the event that there is evidence that the Participant is a potential danger to themself or another, or that the Participant discloses illegal activity, the Coach is ethically bound to report it to the appropriate authority. In such a case, the Coach will discuss it with the Participant before taking such action.

Terms & Conditions
In consideration for participating in using  “Psychedelics”, as part of a coaching service, “the Service”, with Hero’s Journey, “the Coach” or “HJ”, I “the Participant” agree to accept and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.

    Payment

    1. After the Participant’s intake call and screening, and confirmation by the Coach that the Participant may participate in a psychedelic coaching session, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total fee is required as initial payment.

    2. Full payment is required 14 days before the reserved session date.

    Rescheduling and Cancellation

    3. For Participants who cancel with 14+ days notice prior to the session date, 70% of the total fee paid will be refunded.

    4. For Participants who cancel with less than 14 days notice, the total fee paid is forfeit.

    5. For Participants who reschedule with 1 week’s notice or less, there is an additional charge of 20% of the total fee of the Service.

    6. It is free to reschedule with more than 1 week’s notice.

    7. The Coach reserves the right to make changes to any and all aspects of the Service at its sole discretion. Should the Coach deem it necessary to do so, for any reason, such as conditions that may be (psychologically) hazardous, dangerous, and/or otherwise adverse or threatening (to the Coach and/or the Participant), or circumstances out of the Coach’s control, or for any other reason considered necessary by the Coach, the Participant is not eligible for a refund.

    8. The Coach reserves the right to cancel the Service at any time prior to the start date, due to illness, or an unexpected personal event, or an unexpected external event, over which the Coach has no control. In such an event, the Participant will receive a 90% refund of the amount remitted to the Coach. The Coach will not be responsible for any other amount that the Participant has paid, such as preparation costs, airfare, travel documents, or any other damages and/or losses.

    9. In the case that the planned Coach for the Service cannot be present (e.g. due to illness, or an unexpected personal event, or an unexpected external event, over which the Coach has no control) on the day of the Service, the Coach aims to provide an alternative Coach, which the Participant will allow and agree to, or alternatively, the Coach will offer to reschedule the planned date and time of the Service, free of charge.

    Participant Responsibilities

    10. The Participant is solely responsible for any travel insurance and for ensuring that they are adequately insured during the Service with respect to possible illness, injury, transport, death, repatriation, property damage, loss of baggage and personal items, cancellation and/or curtailment, and/or any other potential losses, damages, costs, expenses, or liabilities in any shape, way, or form, directly or indirectly.

    11. The Coach is not responsible for any losses that the Participant incurs and/or sustains before, during, and/or after the Service

    12. The Participant acknowledges their voluntary participation in the Services provided by the Coach, including any physical, breathing, or meditative activity, as part of the Service, including but not limited to, ingesting and/or using Psychedelics.

    13. The Participant acknowledges full awareness of the risks and hazards connected with engaging in the services and activities organized by the Coach, including the use of Psychedelics, which may include polydrug interactions, psychological disorders, and pre-existing conditions that could result in negative consequences.

    Health and Safety

    14. The Participant recognizes that any medical, psychological, or mental health outcome is due to their voluntary choice to participate in the use of Psychedelics.

    15. The Participant takes full responsibility for their own medical and psychological safety before, during, and after the Coach’s Service, as well as all consequences resulting in mental or physical damage, illness, disease, or any other conditions directly or indirectly related to the activity, including the use of Psychedelics.

    16. The Participant confirms that all information provided in the application is correct, complete, and current, including any physical or psychological conditions, past traumas, supplements, natural medicines, and medications (both prescription and over-the-counter).

    17. The Participant acknowledges that they are submitting this application on their own behalf and are not submitting it on behalf of anyone else.

    18. The Participant understands that the Coach does not practice medicine, diagnose, cure, or treat diseases. The Coach is not a medical facility, nor a licensed medical practitioner, and guiding the Participant does not fall under Dutch healthcare regulations.

    19. Representatives of the Coach are not licensed to give advice on prescription medications. The Participant must consult their doctor if considering discontinuing medications. The Participant acknowledges the risk of reduced psychedelic experience if medications are not tapered off under medical guidance.

    Legal Considerations

    20. The Participant acknowledges that this agreement is legally binding and includes waivers and releases of liability. The Participant knowingly and voluntarily waives any rights or claims arising from participating in the Service, including Psychedelics.

    21. In the event of any damage to the Coach’s equipment or facilities caused by the Participant’s actions or negligence, the Participant agrees to be held liable for the associated costs.

    22. The Terms & Conditions are intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law. If any provision is found unlawful, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

    23. The Service and related activities, including the use of Psychedelics, fall under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

    24. The Participant acknowledges this agreement as a consent, release of liability, and waiver of rights to collect damages in the event of personal injury, death, or any other liability, exempting the Coach from all liability now and in the future.

    Important points and disclaimers

Psychotropic substances are not a ‘magic pill’. The key to achieving positive results is to follow up throughout preparation, and integration, and incorporate the learnings  into your daily life. We do not offer ‘quick transformation’. All coaching work and personal development requires deep commitment, time, and self-compassion, which can result in a shift in our realities.

    3. Contraindictions Psychedelic Coaching

Preliminary studies on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy show promising results. However, it’s important to note that the Coach and its facilitators do not provide therapeutic or clinical support, but rather, they safely hold space for participants in good mental and physical health.

Reasons for not being able to participate in our sessions may include cardiovascular (e.g., recent stroke or heart attack) or neurological issues (e.g., epilepsy or brain trauma), use of most antidepressants (e.g., MAOI/SSRI/TCA), mood stabilizing (e.g., lithium) or antipsychotic (e.g., abilify) medications, or severe mental health challenges (e.g., psychosis/bipolar disorder/personality disorder).

These conditions and medications pose additional risks, do not combine well with our psychedelic compounds, and may produce potentially dangerous situations that are beyond the scope of what can be safely managed in a 1-on-1 private session, or a group retreat setting. In some cases, symptoms have worsened after a psychedelic experience, which is why it’s absolutely vital to adhere to the advice on contraindications detailed herewith, as well as in more detail in our Terms & Conditions T&CS Psy Coaching

Lastly, when evaluating an application we take into consideration that when someone tapers off or temporarily stops their medication, an underlying disorder or symptom might reappear or exacerbate. Therefore, we will never suggest tapering off without the input of your medical professional. Again, please find more detailed information in our Terms & Conditions.T&CS Psy Coaching
